Second Quarter 2021 Financial Results released by GSAT

On 5th August 2021, GSAT published second-quarter financial results 2021. The total revenue for the second quarter of 2021 was somewhat lower than the same period in 2020. Lower service revenue was compensated by higher revenue from subscriber equipment purchases.

The loss from operations in the second quarter of 2021 was $16.0 million, compared to $15.4 million in the second quarter of 2020. The rise in operating loss was largely attributable to $0.5 million in higher operational expenditures. A $0.8 million drop was reported in the value of inventory in the second quarter of 2021 due to outdated materials for discontinued goods.

The partnership of GSAT with FocusPoint International

On 1st July 2021, it was announced that GSAT has established a collaboration with FocusPoint International Inc. to deliver crisis help services to Globalstar clients throughout the world through the Global Overwatch & RescueTM Plan.

Overwatch & Rescue is a FocusPoint International help package that includes significant travel medical and security advantages, as well as no-cost evacuations for customers who opt for the yearly plan. Overwatch & Rescue includes 24-hour multilingual crisis support, medical and dental referrals, and much more.

Customers who add the Overwatch & Rescue Plan to their Globalstar or SPOT account will have access to a team of highly experienced medical, security, and crisis response specialists to address incidents caused by dangerous summer and winter sports, natural disasters, pandemics such as COVID-19, riots, strikes, and other unplanned events that disrupt their travels and adventures.

SPOT Partners with Desert Vets Racing

On 19 May 2021, it was stated that SPOT LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GSAT and a leader in satellite messaging and emergency notification technologies, has made a collaboration with Desert Vets Racing, an off-road racing organization founded by military veterans for veterans and active-duty personnel.

SPOT will supply the organization with goods and services to allow communication and driver safety when off-roading in places where there is no terrestrial access as part of the collaboration.
