Early Morning Vibes: 4 Trending Stocks To Watch Right Now

On February 12, American stock markets closed in the green. The S&P 500 Index climbed 0.47% to 3935 points, the NASDAQ rose 0.50%, and the Dow Jones added a symbolic 0.09%. Prospects for the adoption of another fiscal stimulus program in the States continued to support quotations. The healthcare sector outperformed the market, climbing 0.75% on a positive Illumina report. The finance sector grew 0.95% on the back of rising Treasury yields.

    Company news

Illumina (ILMN: + 11.9%) quarterly results exceeded expectations on strong demand for DNA instruments.

PayPal (PYPL: + 4.7%) expects to double the number of users of the payment system by 2025 from its current 377 million, tripling the volume of transactions.

HubSpot (HUBS: + 16.4%), a cloud-based marketing and sales solutions provider, delivered strong reporting on the digitalization trend in small and medium-sized businesses.

Today, global stock markets are showing mixed dynamics. The news background remains quite calm. Market participants’ optimism is boosted by the improved epidemiological situation in Europe and the USA, accelerated vaccination, and the prospects for fiscal stimulus. The seven-day average number of coronavirus cases in the United States for the first time since November fell below 100 thousand, and the number of hospitalized people fell from 80 thousand to 65 thousand in just a week. The situation is improving in all 50 states. Pessimists expect new outbreaks of disease due to the spread of virus mutations, however, if the current positive trends continue, the anticoid restrictions will begin to be lifted everywhere pretty soon.

Joe Biden plans to make his first trip outside Washington as president today. He will deliver a speech in Wisconsin on the fiscal stimulus package. The president is also expected to speak out on the pandemic and its impact on the US economy. The purpose of the speech is ultimately to speed up the negotiating process in Congress. No new information is expected, but the broadcast of the president’s speech may have a positive effect on the sentiment of private investors, whose share in trade turnover continues to increase.

The Freedom Finance Sentiment Index climbed to 71 out of 100. The indicator reflects market participants’ hope for a global economic recovery in 2021. Worries about the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic continue to ease thanks to the prospect of mass vaccinations.

Technically, the S&P 500 remains in an uptrend. Resistance at its upper boundary is still a significant obstacle. A breakthrough of this resistance at 3950 points will mean an acceleration of growth. However, the RSI indicator is already close to the overbought level, so the positive potential in the short-term is limited.

  • The Three Top Financial Stocks for Investment

The Three Top Financial Stocks for Investment

There are some exciting top-end financial stocks in the market.

Tough times in 2020 have affected the working of various financial organizations. Though the financial sector is comprised of companies that offer different services including payment, loans, insurance, savings, and money management.

The financial stocks belong to a vast scale of firms that involve commercial banking, credit cards, e-banking, brokerage, insurance, and asset management.

With things turning around, the financial industry is also getting a stronghold this year. Moreover, there are a lot of expectations from the Biden administration to make a quick economic recovery. Based on this optimistic approach the market is performing far better. So, let’s have a look at the three top financial stocks for investment this year.

    JPMorgan (JPM)

JPMorgan (JPM) is the largest US bank, and the largest company in the financial sector, with over market value of 426.21 billion. JPMorgan was one of those few companies that survived the financial crisis—managed by a legend, the CEO of the company Jamie Dimon. The company is again doing pretty well in yet another macroeconomic crisis.

To add to the point, JPMorgan is too big to fail—as it continues to pass mandated stress tests regularly. Recently, Moody’s completed the periodic review of ratings of JPMorgan. Based upon the ratings, the a2 BCA reflects the diversification and competitive position of the company’s four franchises, including Commercial Banking, Corporate and Investment Banking, Consumer and Community Banking, and Asset and Wealth Management.

The company was rated to skillfully improve its offerings and profitability during the pandemic. JPMorgan’s business segment has a significant scale. The company produced around $53 billion of pre-provision profits in 2020, allowing the bank to absorb $17.5 billion in credit provisions during this period.

    LendingClub Corp. (LC)

LendingClub Corp. (LC) is the first P2P lending firm to register its offering as securities with the SEC. The shares of the lending firm have been trading on a higher side since Dec. 2020. Late last year, the company announced the approval of its acquisition of Radius Bancorp by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

The company just announced that it has closed the acquisition of Radius Bancorp and its digital bank subsidiary, Radius Bank. The new addition to its ecosystem would strengthen the digital network and the complementary businesses of LendingClub. In the future, this would drive more revenue.

In Q3 2020, the company reported a non-GAAP EPS of $0.25, surpassing the analyst estimates by $0.31. While the revenue was also above the estimates by $16.6 million, reported at $74.7 million.

The company also improved its credit score recently. With an improvement to its Relative Strength (RS) Rating on Thursday, the score was upgraded from 88 to 92.

    American Express (AXP)

One of the leading US multinational financial services corporations, American Express (AXP) is the least favorite for investors among JPM and LC. AXP stock after gaining more than 80% since March 2020 has little chance of upside.

Forbes highlighted that AXP shares are currently trading close to their fair share price i.e., around $130. However, the growing share price has enthused investors. We know that the market has been unpredictable in the pandemic. So, it’s hard to forecast how the stock will behave in the coming time.

The company reported low third-quarter outcomes, with net income at $1.1 billion compared to $1.8 billion last year. American Express (AXP) management highlighted that things are improving and the current circumstances are better than the past two quarters.

If the company reports better Q4 results, the stock might pump—going against the expectations of Forbes.

  • Early Morning Vibes: 3 Best Performing Stocks Under

Early Morning Vibes: 3 Best Performing Stocks Under $3

On December 8, American stock exchanges closed at historic highs. The S&P 500 Index climbed 0.28% to 3702 points, the Dow Jones added 0.35%, the NASDAQ rose 0.5%. The purchases spurred hope for fiscal stimulus, as well as the start of the UK vaccine distribution. The health and energy sectors were the top gains, rising 0.73% and 1.57%, respectively. The real estate segment turned out to be an outsider, losing 0.5%.

    Corporate news

    Tesla (TSLA: + 1.3%) announced a $ 5 billion additional share issue.

Productivity software maker Smartsheet (SMAR: + 11%) reported strong quarterly results and improved management forecasts.

Apparel retailer Stitch Fix (SFIX: + 39%) posted a good quarterly report, with a pleasant surprise for investors the company’s profit at a consensus loss.

Today, world stock markets are showing mostly positive dynamics. The likelihood of accepting an economic aid package is increasing. The day before, Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin presented House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a $ 916 billion economic support bill. Unlike the bipartisan stimulus package last week, the bill provides for a one-time payment of $ 600 to each citizen instead of $ 300 weekly in addition to the unemployment. Republican leaders have already expressed support for Mnuchin’s bill. We believe that the congressmen have not yet been so close to a compromise in the past few months, and this is encouraging.

Another supportive factor was a report released by the FDA that the Pfizer / BioNTech anticancer vaccine is completely safe and highly effective. The probability of its approval on December 10 is close to 100%, and on the 11th, the distribution of the drug in the United States may begin. We estimate the risk that the pharmaceutical giant will face difficulties in mass production of the vaccine as minimal, although not zero.

    Today Top Movers Under $3

Cinedigm Corp (CIDM) is up 50.35% at $1.30 in early morning on Wednesday after

Usio Inc (USIO) is up 38.80% in Wednesday’s premarket session after reporting that it has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) to acquire the assets of Information Management Solutions, LLC (IMS).

Recon Technology Ltd (RCON) was taking the aerial route in the after-market session as it surged 95.8% to $2.82, after a China-based independent solutions integrator in the oilfield service and environmental protection, electric power, and coal chemical industries, today announced its financial results for the fiscal year 2020.

    Top Upgrades & Downgrades

JP Morgan turned bullish on Array Technologies Inc. (ARRY), upgrading the stock to “Overweight” and assigning a $41.0 price target.

Earlier Wednesday JP Morgan reduced its rating on Bloom Energy Corporation (BE) stock to Neutral from Overweight and assigned the price target to $26.0. With shares trading at around $30.59, the Wall Street firm thinks Bloom Energy Corporation’s stock could decline more than -62.5%.

DZ Bank analysts reduced their investment ratings, saying in research reports covered by the media that its rating for American Express Company (AXP) has been changed to Hold from Buy and the new price target is set at $128.0.

Analysts at KeyBanc downgraded Talos Energy Inc. (TALO)‘s stock to Sector Weight from Overweight Wednesday.
